Remembered on November 30

Andrew the First-Called

Andrew was a fisherman from Bethsaida in Galilee and the brother of Peter. In the Gospel of John, he follows Jesus and brings his brother to meet Him. The Church calls Andrew the First-Called and remembers him among the Twelve Apostles. His life began with the simple act of responding to Christ, then sharing that meeting with someone he loved. We can begin there too, without needing to have every answer.

How he died

Tradition holds that he was martyred by crucifixion at Patras in Greece.
