Remembered on November 23

Gregory of Agrigentum

Gregory was bishop of Agrigentum, now Agrigento in Sicily, in the early medieval Church. His traditional life describes journeys to the Holy Land and Rome, difficult opposition to his ministry, and his return to serving his people. The Church remembers him for holiness and the healings associated with him. His remembrance encourages patience when service becomes difficult, and a willingness to keep caring for the people entrusted to us.
