Remembered on December 25

The Nativity of Our Lord Jesus Christ

At Christmas, the Church celebrates the birth of Jesus Christ in Bethlehem. The eternal Son of God became truly human for our salvation, without ceasing to be God. The Virgin Mary laid Him in a manger, and shepherds came after hearing the angels’ announcement. The Gospel brings us to a child who needs to be held and cared for, yet is the Lord of all. We celebrate God’s love coming among us, and ask for hearts ready to receive Him.
